Hexagon Cards Inspired by Laura Bassen

Recently Laura Bassen, card maker extraordinaire created clean and simple cards using the Hex Yeah die set. Totally smitten by the simplicity of this design, I “cased” this card using the supplies I had on hand.

Using the hexagon die set I found as a freebie in a recent craft magazine, I die cut some cardstock that I coloured with various Ranger Distress Oxides. Foam squares allowed for easy dimension and the pattern formed with ease.

I was not feeling stampy today, so I printed a sentiment and popped it up with some foam squares.

Take a look at the two cards I created, both under 30 minutes.

Card one using Faded Jeans and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide

Card two using Fired Brick and Wild Honey Distress Oxide

I can’t wait to try a rainbow hexagon card soon! I love clean and simple cards and I hope you feel inspired to create. Remember little can go a long way.

Thank you for reading. Until next time, learn new things and if you can be anything, choose to be a kind human being.

Yours in paper crafting,

The Girl with a Tape Runner
