Hey everyone,
I’m so excited to participate in my first ever blog hop, Chasing Rainbows.
Inspired by my love for paper crafting, I call this card, The colour of love.
Mixing texture paste with black ink, I stenciled the background of my card. While drying, I used Ranger Distress Inks to water colour my card topper, with Stazon Black Ink I stamped the word love, then using the coordinating dies, I cut out the letters. With foam circles, I propped up the letters onto the water coloured card topper.
I used matching rhinestones to finish off the card topper before matting the piece onto silver glitter paper. Using thick foam tape to create some dimension, I adhered the card topper onto the dried textured background.
Here’s the colour of love:

The ladies did a great job and lovely to see everyone’s interpretation of the theme. Everyone has their own style from using scrapbooking paper to ink pads and really showing us to use what is in your stash.

Texture paste and I also have a love/hate relationship. I do like how yours turned out though and how the only colors are in the watercolor background and rhinestones. Thanks fo sharing!

Hello! Back to share what I liked on each of the blogs in your hop! Helen: Love the use of the bird silhouette against the rainbow background.
The Girl with a Tape Runner (yours) Love the pop of the watercolor rainbow with the black and white background and lettering
Helen – Loved her card layout and her use of the black bird silhouette image with the rainbow background.
Marika – Her card was simple yet colorful with the balloons.
Margaret – Learned something about using digi images . Much appreciated
Ansu – Loved her story, her poem and her beautiful card.
Sharon – Same colors, different patterns and layout creating two very unique cards and the added little bonus notebook
Valerie Ann – Love that she used a pen nib for her butterfly body. Great visual interest. My daughter writes … she would love that card!
Wilna – Fantastic new twist on making a card using double sided paper… Appreciate the directions too.
Marie – Love the colors and flower images, but I really liked the little touch of micro beads that were added … not too much – just right!
Thank you again for this fun little journey. It was filled with lots of inspiration and all so different!

Wow!! I often look at international card making blogs in awe and wonder. Internationally there is a large card making community and featured blogs. When you watch their you tube channels or read their blogs, you will often hear the designers refer to or complementing a fellow card maker. It was my perception that in South Africa we do not have a lot of card creator blogs until I completed this blog hop.
It was very inspiring to see how one initiative can spark up such creativity. I loved the multi dimensions of each project. Thank you Sharen Thumboo-Govindsamy for organizing and featuring South Africa’s card making talent!!
