Making cards, staying happy

Lately, I have made a few technique cards. I loved learning how to use water colours and emboss resist techniques. I loved playing with different colour combinations with distress inks – colours that I won’t usually use.

I have recently purchased the BoBunny Believe, Kaisercraft Cottage Rose and Sea Breeze paper collections and I loved making cards with them. I tried to copy/CASE/scraplift the Kaisercraft cards (You are beautiful inside and out/You are the reason I smile)  from their inspiration blog post, but I really could not get it to look exactly like theirs! Their designers are perfect and I can only aspire to be like them. But try I will.

If you are following my journey, you will notice my growth in cardmaking, I am happy.

Mixed Media Class with Svetlana Austin

Oh the excitement.

Svetlana is one of THE MOST talented mixed media artists that I have ever know. She has an eye for detail and she is super creative. It was my greatest pleasure and honour to be taught by her. I must admit, I was not her best student, but she was the best teacher EVER.

Her classes are small and very indept, she leaves nothing unturned! She taught me to make this beautiful printers tray. It was an EIGHT hour long project! I loved every minute of working on it and while I was scared at the beginning of the class, I really learnt a great deal and was introduced to great projects.

Here’s what I made in her class. Will I make one like this again? Maybe. Yes. When she has another class!
