Stamp Anxiety

As a new crafter, stamping is a daunting task! A hundred million emotions run through you as you prepare your card to stamp. So here’s the conversation I have with myself every.single.time I need to stamp a card:

Should I just type and print a sentiment? No!

Should I stamp it on some scrap cardstock then cut and stick? No

Ok, then, how about I put this all away and just let it be? Not at all.

So then, what I shall do?

Prepare your card, make pencil lines if you must, but just ink that stamp and stamp!

I do exactly that! Ink that stamp and stamp.

Here’s how it all went down:

  • IMG_20151006_225544The base is no-name brand card stock I purchased from a paper store
    • The design paper is Dovecraft Curiosity Corner Papers
    • Using the Spellbinders Celebrations Pierced Rectangles, I die cut a rectangle and created a stitched edging in the centre of the front panel.
    • I’ve stamped the typewriter from the Noted Sizzix Framelits Die and Stamps Set on a piece of scrap card stock and used the coordinating die to cut the image. I used foam tape to pop the typewriter up for a dimensional effect in the centre of the inside fold.
    • I cut a piece of designer paper, stamped the Just a note and slid it through a make shift sliced top on the stamped typewriter. Using a skewer, I’ve curled the paper and used foam tape to pop it up for a dimensional effect.
    •  Using the coordinating stamps with this set I went on to stamp the Hello Friend and Just for you sentiments around the front border.
    • My Xyron Mega Tape Runner and some foam tape held this all together.

The stamping is imperfect here, but with time and practise the girl with a tape runner will perfect it.

Thank you for visiting, till then, be kind.
